Am 15.10.2026 wurde im UN-Auschuss für Abrüstung und internationale Sicherheit ein Statement vorgetragen angesichts zunehmender Verstöße einiger Staaten gegen Vereinbarungen und Kürzungen der finanziellen Mittel für humanitärer Akteur*innen. Das Statement wurde von Human Rights Watch initiiert und von 81 Organisationen weltweit unterzeichnet, darunter auch das FNF.
Die Forderungen lauten wie folgt:
- Maintain a humanitarian focus in the process of disarmament;
- Defend the norms of humanitarian disarmament (...);
- Demonstrate the political will and creativity to pursue the bold moves that has long made humanitarian disarmament effective;
- Highlight humanitarian disarmament’s wide-ranging achievements to demonstrate the effectiveness of international law;
- Invest financial, human, and other resources in this work; and
- Pursue humanitarian disarmament efforts in partnerships, (...) international organizations, and civil society and ensuring that affected communities are included at every stage of the decision-making process.
